Getting... Started?

Well, I believe that the best way to start this shit is with an introduction... or two.

I am Cynthia (though Marybeth will consistently refer to me as "Cindy," you are not allowed to)... not exactly new to blogging, but new to sharing one. Pretty excited about though, can't lie.

Let's see... The basics, I suppose, are that I'm a 20 year old Vocal Music Major at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. I work as a mentor for younger majors for no money... it's what they call a "scholarship job" where they make you earn the money you earned :D So, because of that and other things, I have no time for a paying job (even if it was possible to find one) and therefore have no money. I'm in APO (Alpha Phi Omega) a co-ed service fraternity, which I pledged last semester. This semester I'm "taking a little." which should be awesome. I'm actually co-bigging with my friend Patrick. It was kind of a rash last minute decision we made at tonight's meeting. This week is actually rush week, so I should have "little" info within a week or so. I'm also the Social Chair of College Libertarians. It's pretty awesome. Planning parties and events for a bunch of free-thinking pot heads is always a blast. :D Honestly, I think William (an ex of mine) and I are the only two in the group that don't smoke pot. I've never even tried it. My schedule is pretty hectic, and I don't make it home to St. L very often because of that, which sucks. I love the city, and being in Kirksville, is obviously out of my comfort zone.

Since this all sounds sickly like a resumé (to somewhere where they don't care if your friends are pot heads?) I'm going to wrap it up a bit with some random odd memories.

I get lost (by my own doing or others) a lot. And here is proof.

This summer I travelled with other members in Cantoria (a choir I'm in) to Ireland and London on tour. While in Dublin, my friend Jamie and I got terribly lost and separated from our group, thus wondering the streets aimlessly until we ran into a group of guys (also tourists, from Manchester, Eng. on a Bachelor Party Trip-- yeah... I wish I could afford a party in another country! lol.) that we recognized from the bar the night before... they pointed us in the "right" direction and we were on our way... not. We seriously wasted most of the day traveling up and down the same few roads as though it were a never-ending repetitive box that we couldn't escape. Seen Pleasantville? yeah... "What's beyond Main Street?" .... nothing...

I was accidentally kidnapped early this year... I was so scared that I was shaking. I was part of a "float" for the local parade (I got guilted into it...) and when I say "float" I mean creepy local old man's pick up truck with some signs on it and me dressed (poorly) as Lady Liberty in the bed. My friends were walking along side the truck and my only job was to hope my torch arm didn't fall off before the end of the parade. (That thing gets heavy!) So, we reach the end of the parade and old-man-creepster FORGETS I'm in the back (I couldn't jump out because of the signs) and starts driving off... I first of all, fell on my ass from the sudden momentum, and then kneeled back up to see NONE of my friends paying attention. I yelled at the man driving, but he apparently had the radio on and couldn't hear me. So I just sat there... and sat there... and sat there... until the guy pulled into his drive way got out and I was like "HELLO!?" ...... it was so creepy... because then I had to spend the whole trip back sitting next to him. You have no idea how creepy this guy actually is. That's why I like the city... people might not be trustworthy... but they're at least normal. lol.

Well... that's about all I feel like putting. My life in a nutshell.... really just my college life in a nutshell.

I'll let Marybeth finish boring you and then we'll start the real posting :D

one last thing (sorry :D) I very much like photography, but even more so enjoy photo editing. So, whenever I feel like it, I may leave you with a photo I took or edited and in this case, both.
